Old and New Covenant

June 17, 2024

My thoughts for you today:

God gave us His word in a complete book. I hear so many Christians say that we are in a New Covenant and that the Old Covenant is done away with. That’s true-we are in a New Covenant since Jesus died for our sins on the cross. But in stating that, they also say that the Old Testament is done away with and we only follow the New Testament because we are under grace and not under the law.

But let me share some other thoughts and scripture with you. I agree we are under grace, and not law. But we don’t throw out the law. Jesus fulfilled the law for us, becoming a curse on a tree so that we didn’t (or couldn’t) fulfill the perfect requirements of the law. Matthew 5:17-18 “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.”

And when we speak of law, I am not talking about the “ceremonial” requirements of the law-they ARE indeed done away with since Christ.

Realize that God never changes-He is still a God of righteousness and morality-so He would never do away with “thou shall not murder, lie, steal, etc.” They are all part of His nature.

Scripture also says that without the law I knew not sin, “Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.” Romans 7:7. It is the law that is the schoolmaster that leads us to Christ. “Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. “Galatians 3:24

Jesus gave a us a “new commandment-to love God and our neighbor as ourself. But what is love? Is it an emotional feeling where you just want to hug people-or is it more than that?

Love is the fulfilling of the law. “ Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. “ Romans 13:10 We love when we don’t steal from our neighbor, lie to them, murder, covet what is theirs, etc.

As you can see from just a few scriptures here, that God gave us a complete book and in order to fully understand who God is and what His attributes are, we must read and comprehend the entire book—not take verses or books out of context. God does not change. He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

I hope this was helpful and clarified some things for you.

May we all grow daily in the knowledge of God our Father and our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

“Yeah, hath God said?” How We are Deceived

July 15, 2024

We have been doing a lot of research on Bible versions and how they all came about. I have a quote in my book “The Veil Crumbles” that says something about offending God when using one of these modern versions. I actually read that somewhere and never really understood it before now.

We’ve watched a number of videos on how the King James Bible came about using carefully written manuscripts by the Jewish people who made sure every word was preserved and written as in the originals. In 7th-10th century, Masoretes preserved the Hebrew scriptures of the Old Testament which became known as the Masoretic text. For hundreds of years, this was the text used by Christians and the one from which the KJV was written.

God indeed preserved his word.

Then in the 1800’s new texts were found Codex Sininaticus and Codex Vaticanus-both connected with Catholic monasteries. These were claimed to be written around the 2nd to 4th century. These texts actually take out references to the deity of Christ, the son of God, the trinity etc. They were found close to the city of Alexandria, which was noted for gnostic teaching-a heresy. Then in 1947, the Dead Sea scrolls were found. These supposedly were older than the manuscripts for the Masoretic text, and did not agree with the texts used for hundreds of years by Christians, but agreed with the Sininaticus and Vaticanus texts.

Dean Burgon, in the 1800’s, personally examined these texts and found that these texts differed greatly from that of 95% of all manuscripts. There were not only deviations found from the accepted manuscripts but also added much text. Two other books found with these manuscripts are the Epistle of Barnabas and the Shepherd of Hermas-both of which promote New Age doctrines and Satanism. (How pertinent that they were founded by Tischendorf and used by Westcoott and Hort (who were into the occult) to produce all the modern Bible versions)

From all research we’ve done, the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Vaticanus and Sinaticus have now been proven to be false documents. They were analyzed and found not to be as old as claimed.

The big picture of all this is how Satan is a deceiver and works the same way as he has since the garden—by casting doubt upon God’s word. Little by little he deceives-until we are no longer believing God. I can just hear God saying to us—I gave you my word, I preserved it for hundreds of years, and then you want more exciting words-since you are no longer trusting the words I gave you. Just like Eve when the serpent came to her-“yeah, hath God said” And we again believed the serpent who said “I can’t understand the KJV, I don’t like the thee’s and thou’s, the KJV is not modern enough for us, etc

That is how we have offended God-not satisfied with what He gives to us and seeking more and better things than what He provides.

I would encourage you to return to the true scriptures, the KJV version of the Bible for God’s truth, strength, etc. I haven’t even gone into what these modern versions, all based on Vaticanus and Sinaticus, leave out. I will do that in a future blog post. Stay tuned.

An excellent small book quoting much scripture on what God says about changing His word is called Why The King James Bible is the Perfect Word of God by Gary Miller.

Can Evolution Be True?

November 13, 2024

Just a few thoughts that are swimming around in my mind today.

Let me ask you some questions-----

Do you believe in evolution?  If you are a Christian and believe in Creation as God’s word says, then read through this and think about these things so you can ask the next person who says they believe in evolution about some of these questions I am going to present.

1.       First of all-that one cell organism that supposedly everything came from---how did it know to evolve into male and female?

2.       When you talk about the big bang theory-how did that happen? Someone/something had to create the bang-who? What?

3.       If we follow that-where did the air come from?  How did we get gravity?

4.       How is it that all this came about perfectly to support life?  By chance?

5.       What evolved first-plants? Then how did animals come from those?  Or animals? Then how did they eat without plants?

6.       Why is there no in-between fossils of changes between each group of animals that evolved? How did fish turn into mammals?

7.       If man came from apes-where is the fossil forms between man and the apes?

8.       If man just evolved-how did he get a soul? How did a conscience evolve? Even in primitive cultures, there is a sense of right and wrong (that God instilled in all men-so that they are without excuse)

9.       If this whole world evolved, how did it all happen just by chance that everything we have here supports life?

10.   This statement is true-“Something cannot come from nothing”. If it’s dead-it cannot produce life.

These thoughts and statements should make you think and do more research to answer others with these questions—or even to answer them for yourself.

They show that there HAD to be a creator of our world-it didn’t just happen. Genesis tells us the complete story. Doesn’t it make more sense now?
